uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns

ἐγὼ

I

The pronoun I refers to John. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: [I, John,]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

ἀκούοντι τοὺς λόγους τῆς προφητείας τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου & ἐπ’ αὐτά

hearing the words ˱of˲_the prophecy ¬the ˱of˲_scroll this & to them

John is using the term words to mean what he has written about in this book by using words. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [the prophecy I have written about in this book … to what I have written]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

τὰς γεγραμμένας

the ¬which ˓having_been˒_written

If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [that I have written about]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

22:6-21 This epilogue to Revelation contains utterances by an angel (22:6, 8-11) and Christ (22:7, 12-19) followed by a concluding plea for Christ’s return (22:20) and a closing benediction (22:21). The epilogue has a number of direct verbal connections with the introduction to the book (1:1-11), and it sums up important themes such as encouraging faithful perseverance, warning evildoers, affirming the authenticity of the prophetic message, and restating the nearness of Christ’s return.

OET (OET-LV)˓Am˒_testifying I to_everyone which hearing the messages of_the prophecy of_ the _scroll this:
if anyone may_add_on to them, will_be_adding_on the god to him the plagues which having_been_written in the scroll this.

OET (OET-RV)I am testifying to everyone who hears the prophecies written in this document: If anyone adds to these words, then God will add to them the plagues written in this document.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.

Acknowledgements: The SR Greek text, lemmas, morphology, and VLT gloss are all thanks to the SR-GNT.
