Shimei is using an expression similar to the one David used in [3:29](../03/29.md) when he spoke of the blood of Abner being on the head of Joab. By saying that Yahweh has brought the blood of the house of Saul upon David, Shimei means that Yahweh is holding David responsible for shedding this blood and punishing him for doing that.
