This phrase is used here to mark the beginning of a new part of the story. If your language has a way for doing this, you could consider using it here.

(Occurrence 0) given him rest from all his surrounding enemies
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_was that/for/because/then/when settled the=king in/on/at/with,house_of,his and,LORD given_~_rest to=him/it on,around from=all enemies_of,his )
Here “rest” is an abstract noun. Alternate translation: “caused the enemy people groups to stop attacking Israel”
7:1 from all . . . enemies: See Deut 12:9-10; 1 Kgs 5:4; 8:56. David’s rest was temporary because shortly he was at war again (see 2 Sam 8:1-18).
OET (OET-LV) and_he/it_was if/because he_dwelt the_king in/on/at/with_house_of_his and_LORD he_had_given_rest to_him/it on_around from_all enemies_of_his.
OET (OET-RV) Then the king moved into his palace, and Yahweh allowed him to have a time of peace from all his enemies.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
