OET (OET-LV) And_thus Shimˊī he_said when_cursed_he get_out get_out Oh_man_of (the)_blood(s) and_Oh_man_of (the)_worthlessness.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / reduplication
צֵ֥א צֵ֛א
get_out get_out
Shimei is repeating the verb get out in order to intensify his expression of the idea that it conveys. If your language can repeat words for intensification, it would be appropriate to do that here in your translation. If not, your language may have another way of expressing the intensification. Alternate translation: [Get all the way out of here]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
אִ֥ישׁ הַדָּמִ֖ים וְאִ֥ישׁ הַבְּלִיָּֽעַל
(a)_man (Some words not found in UHB: and,thus he/it_had_said Shimˊī when,cursed,he get_out get_out (a)_man of_(the),blood(s) and,O_man_of of_(the),worthlessness )
Shimei is saying man of here in the same way that biblical authors and characters often use the similar expression “son of” to indicate that a person has the characteristic of something. In this case, Shimei is saying that David has the characteristics of being deadly violent and wicked. The first phrase describes what David has done, and the second phrase describes what kind of person Shimei believes David to be. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could use an equivalent expression from your language or state the meaning plainly. The UST models one way to do that.
Note 3 topic: translate-plural
אִ֥ישׁ הַדָּמִ֖ים
(a)_man (Some words not found in UHB: and,thus he/it_had_said Shimˊī when,cursed,he get_out get_out (a)_man of_(the),blood(s) and,O_man_of of_(the),worthlessness )
The word blood is plural here because it refers to blood shed by violence. Your language may use the plural form of its word for blood to mean the same thing. If not, you could express the meaning in another way, here and in the next verse. See how you translated the similar expression in [3:28](../03/28.md). Alternate translation: [man of bloodshed]
OET (OET-LV) And_thus Shimˊī he_said when_cursed_he get_out get_out Oh_man_of (the)_blood(s) and_Oh_man_of (the)_worthlessness.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
