Sed Seir Hebraice pilosus dicitur, qui fuit in modum pellis hispidus. Edom autem Hebraice rubeus vel fulvus. Ab eo igitur quod rubeo cibo vendidit primogenita sua, Edom vocatus est. Hebræi vero ita solvunt. Dicunt Thamnam concubinam fuisse Eliphaz, et generasse ei Amalec, sed tanquam filiam inter filios ab ipso fuisse educatam.
