9.22 Et sine sanguinis effusione, etc. Hæc determinatio ideo apponitur, quia per aquam aspersionis quæ fiebat de cinere vitulæ rufæ, fiebat remissio peccatorum aliquando, quando non effundebatur sanguis, sed tamen effusus erat in immolatione vitulæ. In illis autem sacrificiis quamvis magis ea perverso populo fuerint congruenter imposita, quam Deo desideranti oblata, figura tamen veritatis fuerunt quæ Christus est, cujus sanguine redempti et mundati sumus, quia nostra emundatio et Dei propitiatio nobis sine sanguine nulla est.

9.22 And without blood effusione, etc. This determinatio ideo apponitur, because through waterm aspersionis which fiebat about cinere vitulæ rufæ, fiebat remissio sinners aliquando, when not/no effundebatur sanguis, but tamen effusus was in immolatione vitulæ. In illis however sacrificiis quamvis magis ea perverso to_the_people fuerint congruenter imposita, how Deo desideranti oblata, figura tamen veritatis fuerunt which Christus it_is, cuyus sanguine redempti and mundati sumus, because nostra emundatio and of_God propitiatio us without sanguine nulla it_is.

The author uses the passive form here to focus on what is cleansed rather than on the one who does the cleansing. If you must state who did the action, the author implies that the priests did it. Alternate translation: “the priests cleanse almost everything”

χωρὶς αἱματεκχυσίας, οὐ γίνεται ἄφεσις

The author assumes that his audience will understand, even though he is using a rare word, that by shedding he means the “pouring out” of blood. The phrase shedding of blood thus refers to the process by which a priest kills an animal, pours its blood into a bowl, and then “pours it out” in a specific location near God’s presence. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a phrase that refers to the collection and presentation of blood. Alternate translation: “shedding and presenting blood”
