Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole
(Occurrence 0) Is not this David, the king of the land?
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_rose_up Dāvid and,fled in_the=day (the)=that from=face/in_front_of Shāʼūl and,went to/towards ʼAkīsh king Gat )
They were probably exaggerating when they said that David was king of the land. They used this question to imply that David was a powerful enemy and Achish should not let him stay there. Alternate translation: “You know that this is David, who is as dangerous as the king of the land” (See also: figs-rquestion and figs-explicit)
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion
(Occurrence 0) Did they not sing to one another about him in dances, ‘Saul … thousands?’
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_rose_up Dāvid and,fled in_the=day (the)=that from=face/in_front_of Shāʼūl and,went to/towards ʼAkīsh king Gat )
If it would be helpful in your language, you could express this question as a statement. Alternate translation: “You know that when the people of the land were dancing, they sang to each other about him, ‘Saul … thousands.’”
