OET (OET-LV)And is also many other things that the Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) did, which if in_every one may_be_being_written, I_am_supposing not_even the world itself going_to_be_having_room for_the scrolls being_written.

OET (OET-RV)(There were also many other things that Yeshua did, which if they were all written down then even the world itself wouldn’t have room for all the books that would need to be written.)

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

ἐὰν γράφηται καθ’ ἕν

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἐστίν Δέ καί ἀλλά πολλά ἅ ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἅτινα ἐάν γράφηται καθʼ ἕν οὐδʼ αὐτόν οἶμαι τόν κόσμον χωρήσειν τά γραφόμενα βιβλία)

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [if someone wrote down each one]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

οὐδ’ αὐτὸν & τὸν κόσμον χωρήσειν τὰ γραφόμενα βιβλία

not_even (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἐστίν Δέ καί ἀλλά πολλά ἅ ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἅτινα ἐάν γράφηται καθʼ ἕν οὐδʼ αὐτόν οἶμαι τόν κόσμον χωρήσειν τά γραφόμενα βιβλία)

John exaggerates to emphasize that Jesus did very many good things. If this would confuse your readers, you could use an equivalent expression from your language to show this emphasis. Alternate translation: [a very large amount of books about these miracles would be written]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

τὸν κόσμον

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἐστίν Δέ καί ἀλλά πολλά ἅ ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἅτινα ἐάν γράφηται καθʼ ἕν οὐδʼ αὐτόν οἶμαι τόν κόσμον χωρήσειν τά γραφόμενα βιβλία)

Here, the world refers to either the surface of the earth or the universe. Either meaning would achieve John’s purpose. If your language does not have a general expression for world, you could use an alternate expression. Alternate translation: [the whole earth] or [the whole universe]

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

τὰ γραφόμενα βιβλία

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἐστίν Δέ καί ἀλλά πολλά ἅ ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἅτινα ἐάν γράφηται καθʼ ἕν οὐδʼ αὐτόν οἶμαι τόν κόσμον χωρήσειν τά γραφόμενα βιβλία)

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [the books that someone would write]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

21:25 the whole world could not contain the books: John ends his Gospel acknowledging that the story he has described is larger than anything he can imagine or fully communicate. Though it is glorious for us to read, John’s account pales in comparison to the glory of the person it describes.
