Yahweh is continuing to speak of the dawn as if it were a living thing, in this case speaking as if the dawn could take hold of the edges of the earth and shake it to make the wicked fall off of it. This is a reference to the way, as Job said in [24:14–15](../24/14.md), that criminals commit their crimes during the night, not during the day. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “so that it will become light upon the earth and the wicked will stop committing crimes”

See how you translated the similar expression in [37:3](../37/03.md), where it was also evident that people in this culture believed that the earth was a flat surface that had edges. Alternate translation: “so that it will become light all around the world”

Yahweh is using the adjective wicked as a noun to mean a certain kind of person. Your language may use adjectives in the same way. If not, you can translate this word with an equivalent phrase. Alternate translation: “wicked people”
