(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_struck_down (a)_man man_of,his and,they_fled ʼArām and,it,pursued_them Yisrael and,he_escaped son_of -hₐdad king ʼArām on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in horse and,horsemen )
The author is using a man his man as a common expression of his culture to mean that each of the young Israelite soldiers killed an enemy soldier who confronted him. If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [And each one struck his opponent]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

See how you translated the similar expression in [11:15](../11/15.md). Alternate translation: [And they killed]
OET (OET-LV) And_they_struck_down everyone man_of_his and_ ʼArām _they_fled and_it_pursued_them Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_he_escaped Ben Hₐdad the_king_of ʼArām on a_horse and_horsemen.
OET (OET-RV) and each of them killed their opponent. Then the Arameans took off with the Israelis chasing them, but King Ben-Hadad escaped on a horse along with other riders.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
