Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-condition-hypothetical
וְהֵמַתָּ֛ה
and,you_will_put_to_death
The word And introduces the “if” portion of a hypothetical statement. Moses is describing a possible condition in which the nations saying certain things will take place only if Yahweh kills all the Israelites. Express this possible condition in a way that would be natural in your language. Alternate translation: [If you kill]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / simile
כְּאִ֣ישׁ אֶחָ֑ד
like,a_person one(ms)
The point of this comparison is that just as killing one man is quick and complete, so would be killing all the Israelites at once. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make this point explicitly. Alternate translation: [at one time] or [as quickly as killing one man]
Note 3 topic: writing-poetry
שָׁמְע֥וּ אֶֽת־שִׁמְעֲךָ֖
heard DOM report_of,your
Moses is using a construction in which a verb and its object come from the same root. You may be able to use the same construction in your language to express the meaning here. Alternatively, your language may have another way of saying this. Alternate translation: [heard about you]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
