uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

וּמַטֵּ֖ה נַפְתָּלִ֑י

Here Yahweh implied that the tribe of Naphtali would also camp beside the tribe of Dan. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state this explicitly. Alternate translation: “The tribe of Naphtali also must camp beside Dan”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / possession

וּמַטֵּ֖ה נַפְתָּלִ֑י

and,tribe_of Naftālī

See how you translated the tribe of Naphtali in [1:43](../01/43.md).

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

לִבְנֵ֣י נַפְתָּלִ֔י

of,people_of Naftālī

See how you translated this phrase in [1:42](../01/42.md).

Note 4 topic: translate-names

אֲחִירַ֖ע בֶּן־עֵינָֽן

ʼAḩīraˊ son_of ˊĒynān

See how you translated this phrase in [1:15](../01/15.md).

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

2:1-34 Israel’s camps were to be organized by tribal groupings. This arrangement may have reflected concerns for social status, access to water, and security for the Tabernacle, which represented the Lord’s presence. The Egyptian army from approximately this same era camped in a similar defensive formation to protect the sacred objects that accompanied their field campaigns.
