OET (OET-LV) Blessed and holy is the one having a_part in the resurrection the first.
Over these the second death not is_having authority, but they_will_be priests of_ the _god and of_the chosen_one/messiah, and they_will_be_reigning with him for_the thousand years.
OET (OET-RV) Those who have a part in that first resurrection will be blessed and (considered?) holy. The second death has no power over them—they’ll be priests of God and of the messiah and they’ll reign with him for a thousand years.
In this section, John saw an angel take Satan and put him into the Abyss. The angel then locked the opening to it. Satan had to stay in the Abyss for one thousand years. He was not allowed to deceive the nations during that time.
Then John saw that Christ ruled during those one thousand years. He gathered believers whom the beast had beheaded and caused them to live again. He had them rule with him.

The Thousand Year Reign (NET)
Christ ruled for 1,000 years
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection!
Favored and holy are those who are included in the first resurrection.
About those whom God causes to live again the first time he does that, they are holy and in a good place in his eyes.
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection!: The BSB and some English versions have the description of the people before mentioning the people. This is an English poetic style. In some languages it is more natural to have the description second. For example:
Those who have part in the first resurrection are blessed and holy
Blessed: The Greek word that the BSB translates as Blessed describes a person who is a good situation. In the Bible, the good situation results from God showing favor/kindness to the person.
This word does not primarily refer to a feeling. However, a person in this good situation will frequently have good feelings like happiness and joy. Do not use a word that only refers to material prosperity or physical health.
Other ways to translate this word are:
Favored
How good it is
In a good/desirable position in God’s eyes
Shown kindness by God
See how you translated this word in 1:3 or 19:9.
holy: Here the word holy refers to being set apart for special service to God. It probably also implies being without sin. Other ways to translate this word are:
devoted to God
set apart
pure/blameless/sinless
See how you translated this word in 14:10.
who share in the first resurrection: This clause refers to people who come back to life during the first resurrection. Other ways to translate this clause are:
who share in the first resurrection (NLT)
who are included in this first raising of the dead (GNT)
The second death has no power over them,
The second death has no authority over them,
They will not die a second time.
second death: The first death is when a person’s body dies on earth. He is then separated from the things of the earth. The phrase second death refers to being thrown into the lake of fire (20:14–15). In some languages it is necessary to translate death as a verb. For example:
event of dying a second time
second: The word second refers to the next item after the first one. If counted, this item would be counted as number two. See how you translated this word in 4:7 or 8:8.
has no power over them: The Greek word that the BSB translates as power can also mean “authority.” The second death will not affect believers. Other ways to translate this phrase are:
cannot touch such men (JBP)
will not affect them
They will not be included in the second death
but they will be priests of God and of Christ,
and/but they will be like priests of God and of Christ
Instead they will constantly serve God and Jesus Christ.
and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
and will rule with him/Christ for one thousand years.
They will rule as kings/leaders with him/Christ for a thousand years.
but: This conjunction introduces a contrast to the second death having no power over these believers. Some languages will not indicate contrast here. For example:
and
In some languages it is more natural to allow the context to indicate the connection and not translate the conjunction. For example:
They will be priests…. (CEV)
priests: A Jewish priest was a religious leader who:
offered sacrifices to God for the people,
led the people in worship,
taught the people about God.
Here the word priests refers figuratively to people who serve God as a way of life. They worship God and help others to worship him also.
In some languages the usual word or phrase for priests cannot be used figuratively in that way. If that is true in your language, you should translate the meaning in a non-figurative way. For example:
those who always serve God
people doing God’s will/desire as a way of life
people whose job is to worship God
See how you translated this word in 1:6 and 5:10.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / genericnoun
μακάριος καὶ ἅγιος ὁ ἔχων μέρος ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τῇ πρώτῃ
(Some words not found in SR-GNT: Μακάριος καί ἅγιος ὁ ἔχων μέρος ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τῇ πρώτῃ Ἐπί τούτων ὁ δεύτερος θάνατος οὐκ ἔχει ἐξουσίαν ἀλλʼ ἔσονται ἱερεῖς τοῦ Θεοῦ καί τοῦ Χριστοῦ καί βασιλεύσουσιν μετʼ αὐτοῦ τά χιλία ἔτη)
Here, the one having a part in the first resurrection does not refer to a specific person. It refers to anyone whom God restores to life at this time. Express this in the way that would be most natural in your language. Since John says these in the next sentence, it may be helpful to use a plural form in this sentence as well. Alternate translation: [Blessed and holy are all those who have a part in the first resurrection]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / personification
ἐπὶ τούτων ὁ δεύτερος θάνατος οὐκ ἔχει ἐξουσίαν
(Some words not found in SR-GNT: Μακάριος καί ἅγιος ὁ ἔχων μέρος ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τῇ πρώτῃ Ἐπί τούτων ὁ δεύτερος θάνατος οὐκ ἔχει ἐξουσίαν ἀλλʼ ἔσονται ἱερεῖς τοῦ Θεοῦ καί τοῦ Χριστοῦ καί βασιλεύσουσιν μετʼ αὐτοῦ τά χιλία ἔτη)
John is speaking of the second death as if it were a living thing which could have power over someone, that is, as if it could make someone do what it wanted that person to do. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [These people will not experience the second death]
Note 3 topic: translate-ordinal
ὁ δεύτερος θάνατος
the_‹one› the second death
If your language does not use ordinal numbers, you could use a cardinal number here or an equivalent expression. Alternate translation: [death number two]
