Note: This view shows ‘verses’ which are not natural language units and hence sometimes only part of a sentence will be visible. Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

(Chus however genuit Nemrod: this cœpit esse powerful in terra. )
1.10 Iste cœpit esse potens in terra. Quia insuetam tyrannidem primus arripuit. Hic fuit robustus venator coram Domino, quia homines a Dei cultura avertit. Sic homines a Dei timore revocabat, ut spem in propria virtute poneret. Ideoque putabant Deum interminari diluvium.

Nemrod, son Cham, children Nœ, qui, when/with was audacior and by_hand fortissimus, suadebat hominibus as not/no Deo his_own felicitatem, but propriæ virtuti ascriberent. So homines from of_God timore revocabat, as spem in propria virtute poneret. Ideoque putabant God interminari diluvium. Unde turrim ædificari suadebant how water not/no posset ascendere. Multitudo however prompta was as obediret Nemrod, grave putans servitium obsequi Deo. Regnavit however Nemrod in Babylone and in Areth.
