OET (OET-LV)And this one began to_be_speaking_boldly in the synagogue.
But having_heard from_him, Priskilla and Akulas took_ him _aside, and they_explained the way of_ the _god more_exactly to_him.

OET (OET-RV) So Apollos started speaking out boldly in the Jewish meeting hall. Priscilla and Aquila listened to him, then asked to speak with him privately and explained God’s way more accurately.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ Θεοῦ

the way ¬the ˱of˲_God

Luke is speaking as if the salvation that God has provided through Jesus is a way or path that people walk on. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “about the salvation that God has provided through Jesus”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

18:24-26 Alexandria, the second-largest city in the Roman Empire, was famous for its rhetorical tradition and the philosophical work of Philo. Apollos was an eloquent speaker with an excellent knowledge of the Scriptures (the Old Testament). His knowledge about Jesus and the Holy Spirit was inadequate, though. He did not understand that believers could experience and enjoy the power of the Holy Spirit as a present energizing reality. Fortunately, Priscilla and Aquila took him aside and corrected his spiritual understanding.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Greek words that they’re translated from.
