OET (OET-LV) and surely I_will_be_pouring_out of the spirit of_me on the slaves of_me, and on the handmaidens of_me, in the those days, and they_will_be_prophesying.
OET (OET-RV) I will pour my spirit out on my male and female slaves and they will tell of future events.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / quotations
καί γε ἐπὶ τοὺς δούλους μου, καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς δούλας μου, ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἐκχεῶ ἀπὸ τοῦ Πνεύματός μου, καὶ προφητεύσουσιν
and surely on the slaves ˱of˲_me and on the handmaidens ˱of˲_me in ¬the days those ˱I˲_/will_be/_pouring_out of the Spirit ˱of˲_me and ˱they˲_/will_be/_prophesying
You may have decided to turn Peter’s quotation from Joel into an indirect quotation in order to avoid having a second-level quotation. Alternate translation: “God said that even on his male servants and on his female servants in those days he would pour out from his Spirit, and they would prophesy”
ἐπὶ τοὺς δούλους μου, καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς δούλας μου
on the slaves ˱of˲_me and on the handmaidens ˱of˲_me
If your language has masculine and feminine forms of the word “servant,” it would be accurate to use those forms here. Other languages can indicate this distinction in other ways, as ULT does with the adjectives “male” and “female.”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις
in ¬the days those
Here, days means a specific time. Alternate translation: “at that time”
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
ἐπὶ & ἐπὶ & ἐκχεῶ ἀπὸ τοῦ Πνεύματός μου
on & on & ˱I˲_/will_be/_pouring_out of the Spirit ˱of˲_me
See how you translated this in 2:17. Alternate translation: “to … to … I will give my Spirit abundantly”
2:14-36 This is the first of about thirty speeches in Acts and one of the most important, standing as it does at the very inception of the church. It is a typical example of the preaching of the apostles, who proclaimed (1) that the Old Testament promises had been fulfilled in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is the promised Messiah; (2) that the apostles themselves were eyewitnesses of Jesus’ entire public ministry and were his chosen representatives; (3) that people are called to repent of their sins and have faith in God through Christ; and (4) that salvation and the presence of the Holy Spirit are promised to those who respond affirmatively to this message of Good News. This basic message is echoed in the sermons of chs 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 13. The same themes characterized Paul’s preaching (see 1 Cor 15:3-9). This message was repeatedly preached to both Jews and Gentiles throughout the Mediterranean world; all people are summoned to repent of their sins and turn to God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
