OET (OET-LV) Men, brothers, it_is_permitting to_speak with confidence to you_all concerning the patriarch Dawid that he_ both _died and was_buried, and the tomb of_him is among us until the this day.
OET (OET-RV) “Fellow Israelis, we can tell you all with confidence that our patriarch David both died and was buried, and his tomb is still here with us today.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
ἄνδρες, ἀδελφοί
men brothers
This is an idiomatic form of address. Alternate translation: “My brothers”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
ἄνδρες, ἀδελφοί
men brothers
See how you translated the term brothers in 1:15. Alternate translation: “My fellow believers” or “My brothers and sisters”
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
τοῦ πατριάρχου Δαυεὶδ
the patriarch (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί ἐξὸν εἰπεῖν μετὰ παρρησίας πρὸς ὑμᾶς περὶ τοῦ πατριάρχου Δαυὶδ ὅτι καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν καὶ ἐτάφη καὶ τὸ μνῆμα αὐτοῦ ἔστιν ἐν ἡμῖν ἄχρι τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης)
A patriarch is literally the ancestor of a group of people. David was not the ancestor of all the Jews to whom Peter is speaking. So he is likely using the term to identify David as the king who established the Israelite kingdom as a lasting dynasty. Alternate translation: “David, the founder of our kingdom”
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
ἐτάφη
/was/_buried
If it would be helpful in your language, you could state this with an active form. Alternate translation: “people buried him”
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
ἄχρι τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης
until ¬the day this
Peter is using the word day to mean a specific time. Alternate translation: “at this time”
2:14-36 This is the first of about thirty speeches in Acts and one of the most important, standing as it does at the very inception of the church. It is a typical example of the preaching of the apostles, who proclaimed (1) that the Old Testament promises had been fulfilled in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is the promised Messiah; (2) that the apostles themselves were eyewitnesses of Jesus’ entire public ministry and were his chosen representatives; (3) that people are called to repent of their sins and have faith in God through Christ; and (4) that salvation and the presence of the Holy Spirit are promised to those who respond affirmatively to this message of Good News. This basic message is echoed in the sermons of chs 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 13. The same themes characterized Paul’s preaching (see 1 Cor 15:3-9). This message was repeatedly preached to both Jews and Gentiles throughout the Mediterranean world; all people are summoned to repent of their sins and turn to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
