(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when blood_of,she in/on/at/with,midst_of,her it_became on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in bare_of rock placed,it not pour,it on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the=earth/land to,cover on/upon/above=him/it dust )
This means that the blood from those who were murdered in Jerusalem is still there. Alternate translation: “For the blood of those who were murdered among her is still there”
(Occurrence 0) her
(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when blood_of,she in/on/at/with,midst_of,her it_became on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in bare_of rock placed,it not pour,it on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the=earth/land to,cover on/upon/above=him/it dust )
The word “her” refers to Jerusalem, which is represented by the cooking pot.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / personification
(Occurrence 0) She has set it on the smooth rock; she has not poured it out on the ground to cover it with dust
This personifies Jerusalem as a person who murdered the people and chose where to put their blood. Alternate translation: “They were murdered on the smooth rocks; not on the dirt where the dust would hide their blood” or “Their blood fell on the smooth rocks; it did not fall on the ground where the dust would cover it”
(Occurrence 0) has set it on the smooth rock
(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when blood_of,she in/on/at/with,midst_of,her it_became on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in bare_of rock placed,it not pour,it on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the=earth/land to,cover on/upon/above=him/it dust )
Alternate translation: “has put the blood on bare rocks”
24:1-14 At first sight, the picture of a cooking pot is positive, conjuring expectations of good food and fellowship. Various choice pieces of a sacrificial animal had been gathered, a fire was kindled underneath the pot, and the contents were brought to a simmer. However, as in many parables, there is a sting in the tail of the story. What ought to have been a tasty meal had become a foul, profane mess. The choice pieces of meat that had gone in were uniformly corrupt when they came out. The pot represented Jerusalem (24:9); its contents would be burned and destroyed.
OET (OET-LV) If/because blood_of_she in/on/at/with_midst_of_her it_was on bareness_of rock placed_it not pour_it on the_earth/land to_cover on/upon/above_him/it dust.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
