OET (OET-LV) And_ ʼAdoniyyāh _he_came the_son_of Ḩaggit[fn] to Bath- sheⱱaˊ the_mother_of Shəlomoh and_she/it_said peace is_your_coming and_he/it_said peace.
2:13 OSHB note: BHS has been faithful to the Leningrad Codex where there might be a question of the validity of the form and we keep the same form as BHS.
OET (OET-RV) Then Haggit’s son Adoniyah came to Shelomoh’s mother Batsheva and she asked him, “Is your coming peaceful?”
¶ “It is,” he replied.

וַיָּבֹ֞א אֲדֹנִיָּ֣הוּ בֶן־חַגֵּ֗ית אֶל־בַּת־שֶׁ֨בַע֙ אֵם־שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_came ʼAdoniyyāh son_of Ḩaggit to/towards daughter_of seven mother_of Shəlomoh/(Solomon)'s and=she/it_said ?,peace [is]_your,coming and=he/it_said peacefully )
The author is introducing a new event in the story. Use a word, phrase, or other method in your language that is natural for introducing a new event.
Note 2 topic: translate-kinship
בַּת־שֶׁ֨בַע֙ אֵם־שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_came ʼAdoniyyāh son_of Ḩaggit to/towards daughter_of seven mother_of Shəlomoh/(Solomon)'s and=she/it_said ?,peace [is]_your,coming and=he/it_said peacefully )
The author identifies Bathsheba here as the mother of Solomon, and he seems to mean that Adonijah came to speak to her in her official role of queen mother. That was an important and honored role in the royal courts of this culture, as Solomon’s respectful actions in [2:19](../02/19.md) show. Your language may have its own term or expression for this role and relationship. Alternate translation: [Bathsheba, the queen mother]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns
הֲשָׁל֣וֹם & שָׁלֽוֹם
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_came ʼAdoniyyāh son_of Ḩaggit to/towards daughter_of seven mother_of Shəlomoh/(Solomon)'s and=she/it_said ?,peace [is]_your,coming and=he/it_said peacefully )
If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of peace, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [peaceful … Peaceful]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
שָׁלֽוֹם
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_came ʼAdoniyyāh son_of Ḩaggit to/towards daughter_of seven mother_of Shəlomoh/(Solomon)'s and=she/it_said ?,peace [is]_your,coming and=he/it_said peacefully )
Adonijah is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [Yes, I have come in peace]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
