If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Following the custom of his culture, Solomon is swearing an oath by stating one part of a condition but not the other. In this case, Solomon states the second part of a condition (“then”) but not the first part (“if”). If it would be helpful to your readers, you could explicitly state the first part of this condition. Alternate translation: [If I do not execute Adonijah, thus may God do to me, and thus may he add]
