The author is clarifying that the addition that Solomon had his workers build extended all the way around the sides and back of the temple building. If he had simply said the wall of the house, some readers might have understood this not to include the back third of the temple, which consisted of the Most Holy Place. So he adds that the addition rested against the walls of both the nave and the inner sanctuary. Readers in some cultures might consider these to be the same wall, and so it may be more natural for you to express this in your translation by using a singular form. Alternate translation: [extending around the outer wall of both the nave and the inner sanctuary]

Here the author is using a technical architectural term that occurs only in the descriptions of Solomon’s temple here in 1 Kings, in the parallel passages in 2 Chronicles, and in [Psalm 28:2](../psa/28/02.md). He means the innermost part of the temple, which corresponded to the Holy of Holies or Most Holy Place in the sacred tent. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could use one of those names, as the UST does, or you could use a general expression. Alternate translation: [the innermost part of the temple]
