OET (OET-RV) The lowest level was just over two metres wide, the middle level was half a metre wider, and the top level the same again (because the temple wall got thinner as it went up). The temple walls had ledges built into them for the beams to sit on, so they wouldn’t have to go through the walls.

While the author is using the same word here that is translated as addition in the previous verse, here he is using a feminine form to mean one part of the structure, specifically one of its three floors. In the previous verse and in [6:10](../06/10.md), the author uses the masculine form to mean the entire structure. If your language uses forms of different gender in the same way, you could do that here in your translation. If not, you could indicate the meaning explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [The lowest floor of the addition]

The author is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [and the middle floor … and the third floor]
Note 3 topic: translate-ordinal
וְהַ֨שְּׁלִישִׁ֔ית
(Some words not found in UHB: the, the,lower five by,cubit breadth_of,its and,the_middle,[extension] six by,cubit breadth_of,its and_(the),third,[extension] seven by,cubit breadth_of,its that/for/because/then/when offsets he/it_gave for,house all_around the_outside,to to=not inserted in,the_walls_of of,the_house )
The term third refers here to the highest of the three levels of rooms built alongside the temple walls, as mentioned in verse 5 and in verse 8. If your language would not represent a number in a form such as third, you could represent this number in a form that your language would use. Alternate translation: [and floor three] or [and the highest floor]

Here the word For introduces not a reason but an explanation. Alternate translation: [This was possible because]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
