Your language may have a verb form or verb phrase that you can use in your translation to indicate that the action in this verse preceded the action in [6:22](../06/22.md). Alternate translation: [he had carved]

The author is using a possessive form to describe carvings that were engravings. If a speaker of your language would not use the possessive form for this, you could express this idea in another way. Alternate translation: [engraved carvings]
