שְׂבָכִ֞ים מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה שְׂבָכָ֗ה גְּדִלִים֙ מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה שַׁרְשְׁר֔וֹת לַ⁠כֹּ֣תָרֹ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ הָ⁠עַמּוּדִ֑ים

This could mean: (1) that Hiram covered the capitals with decorative bronze netting and that he made the strands of the netting by twisting bronze wires together, as one would do to make chains (not in the sense of chains composed of separate links, but in the sense of a strong cord). Alternate translation: [The capitals on top of the pillars had decorative netting made from bronze that had been formed into thick strands, as for chains] or (2) that Hiram covered the capitals with decorative bronze netting and then draped chains over the netting that he had made by twisting bronze into thick strands. Alternate translation: [The capitals on top of the pillars had for decoration bronze netting and chains made of strands of twisted bronze]

In this verse, the word head is singular in form, but it refers to all the tops of the pillars as a group. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use the plural form of “head,” here and in verses 18, 19, and 22. Alternate translation: [the heads of the pillars] or [the tops of the pillars]
