OET (OET-LV) And_it_was to/for_you(pl) (into)_tassel[s] and_you(pl)_will_see DOM_him/it and_you(pl)_will_remember DOM all_of the_commands_of YHWH and_you(pl)_will_observe DOM_them and_not you(pl)_will_go_about after heart_of_your(pl)_own and_after your(pl)_eyes which you(pl) are_acting_as_prostitutes after_them.
OET (OET-RV) Then when you see a tassel, it’ll remind you of Yahweh’s instructions, and so you’ll follow them rather than your own desires and lusts that lead you all into unfaithfulness.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
וְהָיָ֣ה לָכֶם֮ לְצִיצִת֒ וּרְאִיתֶ֣ם אֹת֗וֹ וּזְכַרְתֶּם֙ אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֺ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה
and=it_was to/for=you(pl) (into),tassel[s] and,you(pl)_will_see DOM=him/it and,you(pl)_will_remember DOM all/each/any/every commands_of YHWH
The implication is that the Israelites will remember the commandments when they see the tassels. You could include this information if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [and it shall be for you for a tassel, and when you see it, you shall remember all the commandments of Yahweh]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / 123person
אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֺ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה
DOM all/each/any/every commands_of YHWH
Yahweh is speaking of himself in the third person as Yahweh. If it would be helpful in your language, you could translate this in the first person. Alternate translation: [all my commandments]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
וְלֹֽא־תָתֻ֜רוּ אַחֲרֵ֤י לְבַבְכֶם֙ וְאַחֲרֵ֣י עֵֽינֵיכֶ֔ם
and=not follow after heart_of,your(pl)_own and=after your(pl)=eyes
Here, Yahweh is speaking of following sinful desires as if a person were exploring a path, going after their heart and eyes. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [And you shall not follow your heart and your eyes] or [And you shall not do whatever your heart and your eyes want]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
אַחֲרֵ֤י לְבַבְכֶם֙ וְאַחֲרֵ֣י עֵֽינֵיכֶ֔ם
after heart_of,your(pl)_own and=after your(pl)=eyes
Here, heart represents thoughts or desires, and eyes represents what a person sees and desires. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [after your what you think and after what you see] or [after your thoughts and after your desires]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
אֲשֶׁר & אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם
which/who & after,them
Yahweh is using after which as a common expression of this culture to mean “because of which” or “at whose prompting.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [at whose prompting] or [because of which]
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
אַתֶּ֥ם זֹנִ֖ים
you(pl) prostitute
Here, Yahweh is speaking of the people’s disobedience as if it were committing fornication. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [you are being faithless]

OET (OET-RV) Then when you see a tassel, it’ll remind you of Yahweh’s instructions, and so you’ll follow them rather than your own desires and lusts that lead you all into unfaithfulness.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
