Note: This view shows ‘verses’ which are not natural language units and hence sometimes only part of a sentence will be visible. Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed as a tool for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

13:1-18 Prophets who tried to lead Israel away from the one true God were guilty of treason, which carried the death penalty. No other religion insisted on exclusive worship of their national gods; consequently, such harsh penalties for the worship of competing deities were unknown elsewhere in the ancient Near East.

וְלֹא־תָח֤וֹס עֵֽינְךָ֙ עָלָ֔יו
(Some words not found in UHB: any_of,gods_of the,peoples which/who around_of,you_all the,near to,you or the,far from,you from,end_of the=earth/land and=unto end_of the=earth/land )
Here, your eye shall not pity him is an idiom that means “do not feel sorry for him.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use an idiom from your language that does have this meaning or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [do not let your heart soften towards him] or [and do not have compassion on him]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
וְלֹֽא־תְכַסֶּ֖ה עָלָֽיו

Here Moses means that people should not hide or keep secret the fact that someone is urging others to worship idols. You could include this information if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [nor hide his guilt]
