uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

προαγαγεῖν αὐτὸν

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ὅτε Δέ ἤμελλεν προσαγαγεῖν αὐτόν ὁ Ἡρῴδης τῇ νυκτί ἐκείνῃ ἦν ὁ Πέτρος κοιμώμενος μεταξύ δύο στρατιωτῶν δεδεμένος ἁλύσεσιν δυσίν φύλακες τέ πρό τῆς θύρας ἐτήρουν τήν φυλακήν)

Here, the word translated as to bring him out is slightly different from the word translated that same way in [12:4](../12/04.md). It means to put someone on trial, and the implications, based on the fact that Herod saw that it pleased the Jewish leaders when he executed James, are that Herod planned to execute Peter after this trial. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could state that explicitly. Alternate translation: [to put Peter on trial and then execute him]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

δεδεμένος ἁλύσεσιν δυσίν

˓having_been˒_bound ˱with˲_chains two

If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [with two chains binding him]

OET (OET-LV)And when the Haʸrōdaʸs was_going to_bring_ him _forth the on_ that _night, the Petros was being_fallen_asleep between two soldiers, having_been_bound with_ two _chains, and guards before the door were_guarding the prison.

OET (OET-RV)Herod planned to send for Peter later that evening, but meanwhile Peter had fallen asleep chained with two chains between two soldiers. There were also prison guards at the door

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.

Acknowledgements: The SR Greek text, lemmas, morphology, and VLT gloss are all thanks to the CNTR.
