OET (OET-LV)And he_found there a_ certain _man by_the_name Aineas, lying_down for eight years on a_pallet, who was having_been_paralyzed.

OET (OET-RV)He saw a paralysed man named Aeneas who’d spent eight years lying on his pallet,

uW Translation Notes:

εὗρεν & ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπόν τινα

˱he˲_found & there /a/_man certain

The word found does not mean that Peter was intentionally searching for a certain man; he happened to meet him. Alternate translation: [there Peter happened to meet a man]

Note 1 topic: writing-participants

ἄνθρωπόν τινα ὀνόματι Αἰνέαν

/a/_man certain ˱by˲_/the/_name Eneas

Luke uses this sentence to introduce Aeneas as a new character in the story. If your language has its own way of doing that, you could use it here in your translation.

Note 2 topic: translate-names

Αἰνέαν

Eneas

Aeneas is the name of a man.

Note 3 topic: writing-background

ἐξ ἐτῶν ὀκτὼ κατακείμενον ἐπὶ κραβάττου, ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος

for years eight lying_down on (Some words not found in SR-GNT: εὗρεν δὲ ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπόν τινα ὀνόματι Αἰνέαν ἐξ ἐτῶν ὀκτὼ κατακείμενον ἐπὶ κραββάτου ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος)

In this verse, Luke provides background information about Aeneas to help readers understand what happens next in the story. This information shows how remarkable it was that Jesus could heal a man who had been bedridden for that long. In your translation, present this information in a way that would be natural and meaningful in your own language and culture.

Note 4 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result

ἐξ ἐτῶν ὀκτὼ κατακείμενον ἐπὶ κραβάττου, ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος

for years eight lying_down on (Some words not found in SR-GNT: εὗρεν δὲ ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπόν τινα ὀνόματι Αἰνέαν ἐξ ἐτῶν ὀκτὼ κατακείμενον ἐπὶ κραββάτου ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος)

The reason why Aeneas had been lying in a bed for eight years was that he was paralyzed. It may be clearer in your language to describe this result after giving the reason for it. Alternate translation: [who was paralyzed and so had lain in a bed for eight years]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

9:32-43 These verses describe Peter’s itinerant ministry in Judea, particularly along the seacoast. Exercising spiritual powers given to him by God, Peter performed wonderful works, including the healing of Aeneas and the raising of Dorcas. Jesus had promised such signs and wonders to the disciples (John 14:12).
• Typical of Luke’s writing, the healing of a man is matched by the healing of a woman (see Luke 13:10-17; 14:1-6). The people in the area were deeply moved by these miracles, and many were drawn into the faith (Acts 9:35, 42).
