OET (OET-RV) The king used the almug timber to make railings[fn] for the temple and the palace, and lyres and harps for the musicians. Such a quantity and quality of almug wood has never again been brought in or seen in Israel to this day.
10:12 The exact meaning of this Hebrew word is unknown, especially as it’s only used once. (Other possibilities for the use of this obviously high-quality timber includes ‘steps’ or ‘pillars’.)

supports
In this verse, the word support is singular in form, but in context it seems to refer to a number of such items. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a plural form in your translation. Alternate translation: [supports]

מִסְעָ֤ד
supports
The word translated as support occurs only here in the Old Testament. The parallel passage in [2 Chronicles 9:11](../2ch/09/11.md) has a term that means “stairs,” “stairways,” or “steps.” But since wooden steps would wear out quickly, one possibility is that the term describes a baluster, an ornamental wooden shaft or spindle used in decorative railings for stairways and balconies. Since many of these items seem to be in view, the author could be describing wooden balustrades or railings that Solomon had his workers make for the temple and for his palace. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. However, since the meaning is not entirely certain, you could also use a general expression, as the UST does. Alternate translation: [balustrades] or [decorative railings]

not come so tree/wood_of (Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_made the=king DOM tree/wood_of of,the_almug(s) supports for,the_house_of YHWH and,for,the_house_of the=king and,harps and,lyres for,singers not come so tree/wood_of almug and=not he/it_appeared until the=day (the),this )
The author is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [Such wood of almug had not come for abundance]

לֹ֣א בָֽא־כֵ֞ן עֲצֵ֤י אַלְמֻגִּים֙

The author is speaking of wood as if it were a living thing that could come on its own. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [No one had brought so much wood of almug before]
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
וְלֹ֣א נִרְאָ֔ה
and=not he/it_appeared
The expression has not been seen is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [and no one has seen so much of it]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
