OET (OET-LV) And_he/it_was just_as_heard Yārāⱱəˊām the_son_of Neⱱaţ and_he still_he was_in_Miʦrayim where he_had_fled from_face/in_front_of the_king Shəlomoh and_ Yārāⱱəˊām _he/it_sat_down//remained//lived in_Miʦrayim.
OET (OET-RV) Meanwhile, Nebat’s son Yarave’am (Jeroboam) in Egypt (where he’d fled from King Shelomoh) heard the news and returned to Yisrael.
Note 1 topic: writing-newevent
וַיְהִ֞י
and=he/it_was
See how you translated the phrase “And it happened” in [2:39](../02/39.md), where it similarly introduces a new event.
Note 2 topic: writing-pronouns
וְהוּא֙ עוֹדֶ֣נּוּ בְמִצְרַ֔יִם
and=he still,he [was]_in,Egypt
The author is stating the pronoun he separately, even though the expression he was still already includes this meaning. He is doing that in order to introduce background information. If a speaker of your language would use an explicit pronoun for this same purpose, you may want to use that construction in your translation. If not, your language may have other ways of showing that the author is introducing background information. Alternate translation: [now as for him, he was still in Egypt]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / synecdoche
מִפְּנֵ֖י הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_was just,as_heard Yārāⱱəˊām/(Jeroboam) son_of Neⱱaţ and=he still,he [was]_in,Egypt which/who fled from=face/in_front_of the=king Shəlomoh/(Solomon) and=he/it_sat_down//remained//lived Yārāⱱəˊām/(Jeroboam) in,Egypt )
The author is using one part of Solomon, his face, to mean all of him in the act of trying to kill Jeroboam. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. If you have already translated the book of 1 Samuel, see how you translated the similar expression in [1 Samuel 18:11](../1sa/18/11.md). Alternate translation: [from Solomon, who had tried to kill him]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
