uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

עַ֚ל כָּל־גִּבְעָ֣ה גְבֹהָ֔ה וְתַ֖חַת כָּל־עֵ֥ץ רַעֲנָֽן

on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in (Some words not found in UHB: and,they_built also/even they(emph) to/for=them high_places and,sacred_pillars and,Asherah_poles on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in all/each/any/every hill high and,under all/each/any/every tree/message green )

The author is referring to every high hill and every green tree as a generalization for emphasis. If it would be clearer in your language, you could express the emphasis in a different way. Alternate translation: [on high hills and under green trees throughout their territory]

Note 2 topic: writing-pronouns

גַם־הֵ֧מָּה

also/even (Some words not found in UHB: and,they_built also/even they(emph) to/for=them high_places and,sacred_pillars and,Asherah_poles on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in all/each/any/every hill high and,under all/each/any/every tree/message green )

The author is stating the pronoun they separately, even though the verb translated as they built already includes this meaning. He is doing that to emphasize that the people of Judah should have known better than to build these high places and pillars and Asherahs, since they had Yahweh’s temple and its influence within their territory in Jerusalem. If a speaker of your language would use an explicit pronoun for the same purpose, you may want to use that construction in your translation. If not, your language may have other ways of showing the meaning here. See how you translated the similar expression “you, you know” in [2:5](../02/05.md). Alternate translation: [even they, who should have known better]
