There are three levels of quotation here. At the start, the author is quoting what Ahijah said to Jeroboam’s wife (level 1), continuing from the previous verse. Ahijah then tells her what he wants her to say to Jeroboam (level 2). Within this message, there is a quotation from Yahweh (level 3). Use the appropriate punctuation in your language to mark these levels of quotation. Alternatively, you could translate this so that there are not second-level or third-level quotations.

See the discussion in the introduction to this chapter of how you can translate Yahweh’s message to Jeroboam’s wife in verses 7–11 in such a way that there will not be quotations within quotations. Here is an example of what you might say in this verse. Alternate translation: [Go and tell Jeroboam that Yahweh, the God of Israel, says that because he raised him up from the midst of the people and made him a leader over his people Israel]

הֲרִימֹתִ֖יךָ
I,raised_you_up
Yahweh is speaking as if he had physically raised up Jeroboam, that is, as if he had lifted him up into the air or to an elevated location. In contexts such as this, this expression describes making a person powerful or giving a person a powerful position. See how you represented this image in [11:14](../11/14.md). Alternate translation: [I brought you to power]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
