This could mean: (1) that the author is leaving out a word that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. The parallel passage in [2 Chronicles 7:21](../2ch/07/21.md) includes the word “which.” You could supply it in your translation if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [And this temple, which is exalted] or [And although this temple is now exalted] or (2) that the author is saying that the temple will be exalted in the sense of lifted up or heaped up as a ruin. Alternate translation: [And this temple will become a heap of ruins]

The expression will be astonished is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [what has happened to it will astonish everyone passing by it, and they will hiss]
