uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

וַיָּסֹ֕בּוּ

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_went king Yisrael and,the_king_of Yehuda and,the_king_of ʼEdōm and,they_went_around road/way_of seven_of days and=not it_became waters to,army and,to,animal[s] which/who [was]_at,feet_of,their )

The author assumes that readers will understand that by they went around, he means that these armies went around the southern end of the Dead Sea. You could say that explicitly if that would be helpful to your readers. You may wish to use the name that this body of water had in biblical times, “the Sea of the Arabah.” Alternate translation: [and they went around the Dead Sea] or [and they went around the Sea of the Arabah]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֛ה

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_went king Yisrael and,the_king_of Yehuda and,the_king_of ʼEdōm and,they_went_around road/way_of seven_of days and=not it_became waters to,army and,to,animal[s] which/who [was]_at,feet_of,their )

Here, the camp represents the soldiers who were camped there. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [for the soldiers]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּרַגְלֵיהֶֽם

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_went king Yisrael and,the_king_of Yehuda and,the_king_of ʼEdōm and,they_went_around road/way_of seven_of days and=not it_became waters to,army and,to,animal[s] which/who [was]_at,feet_of,their )

The author is using the expression at their feet to represent that these animals were walking behind the soldiers as they marched. As [3:16](../03/16.md) suggests, these probably included cattle to eat, horses to ride into battle, and animals to carry supplies. Alternate translation: [that were walking behind them]
