In this context, the author does not mean that Jehoram went somewhere. He means that he took the action that he describes next. Alternate translation: [And he took action]

See the discussion of this term in the Introduction to 2 Kings. In contexts such as this, it introduces a direct quotation. In your translation, use a natural way of introducing direct quotations in your language. It may not be necessary to represent this phrase explicitly, here or in its other instances in the book.

אֶעֱלֶ֔ה

See how you translated the similar expression in [1:3](../01/03.md). Alternate translation: [I will go]

Jehoshaphat is using a common expression of his culture to agree to join Jehoram in an attack against Moab. If this expression does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. If you have already translated the book of 1 Kings, see how you translated the similar expression in [1 Kings 22:4](../1ki/22/04.md), where Jehoshaphat says the same thing to Jehoram’s father Ahab. Alternate translation: [I and my army with its horses will fight alongside you and your army with its horses]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
Acknowledgements: The Hebrew text, lemmas, and morphology are all thanks to the OSHB and some of the glosses are from Macula Hebrew.
