These two clauses say basically the same thing as the previous verse. See the discussion in the Introduction to [chapter 22](../22/01.md) of how Hebrew poetry was based on the repetition of words, phrases, and ideas. Recall how you decided as a team represent Hebrew poetry in your translation. Alternate translation: [The Spirit of Yahweh spoke by me, yes, his word was on my tongue] or [The Spirit of Yahweh gave me the words to speak for him]

David is using the term word to represent what he said by using words. If it would be clearer in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [and I spoke his word]

David is using his tongue to represent all of himself in the act of speaking. If it would be clearer in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [and I spoke what he wanted me to say]
