Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / reduplication
If binding, they bind me
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said to=her/it if to_tie tie_~_up,me in/on/at/with,ropes new which/who not used in/among=them work and,become_weak and=I_will_be like=one the=humankind )
Samson is repeating the verb bind in order to intensify the idea that he is expressing. If your language can repeat words for intensification, it would be appropriate to do that here in your translation. If not, your language may have another way of expressing the emphasis. Alternate translation: “If in fact they bind me”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
work has not been done
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_said to=her/it if to_tie tie_~_up,me in/on/at/with,ropes new which/who not used in/among=them work and,become_weak and=I_will_be like=one the=humankind )
If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “no one has done work”
