UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / simile

(Occurrence 0) as one

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_rose_up all/each/any/every the,people as,man one(ms) to=say not go (a)_man to,tent,his and=not return (a)_man to,house,his )

This simile speaks of the group as acting as a single person. They all acted together in exactly the same way. Alternate translation: “as if they were a single man”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / parallelism

(Occurrence 0) None of us will go to his tent … none of us will return to his house

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_rose_up all/each/any/every the,people as,man one(ms) to=say not go (a)_man to,tent,his and=not return (a)_man to,house,his )

These two clauses say basically the same thing twice for emphasis. They can be combined. The words “none … go” and “none … return” emphasizes how the people will continue to stay there. They can be stated in positive form. Alternate translation: “We will all stay here” (See also: figs-litotes)
