TSNTyndale Study Notes:

10:1-43 Gibeon and its neighboring cities occupied a plateau north of Jerusalem (see study note on 7:2). With Gibeon now allied to Israel, control of the plateau and of the central hill country in the vicinity of Gibeon belonged to Israel. Throughout history, whoever has controlled the plateau has, in general, also controlled the hill country. The Canaanite kings had to conquer Gibeon or their cause was lost.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

עֲלֽוּ

come_up

As the General Notes to this chapter discuss, the expression Come up indicates that these kings and their armies would have to travel upward in elevation in order to reach Jerusalem. If your language does not mark travel expressions for elevation, you could shorten such expressions, here and throughout this chapter. Alternate translation: “Come”

Note 2 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result

וְנַכֶּ֖ה אֶת גִּבְע֑וֹן הִשְׁלִ֥ימָה אֶת יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ וְאֶת בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל

and,attack DOM Giⱱˊōn (Some words not found in UHB: come_up to=me and,help,me and,attack DOM Giⱱˊōn that/for/because/then/when made_peace DOM Yəhōshūˊa/(Joshua) and=DOM sons_of Yisrael )

If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: “because Gibeon has made peace with Joshua and with the sons of Israel, let us strike it”
