BrTr then the priest shall look, and, behold, if the appearance be beneath the skin, and its hair has changed to white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean; because it is a leprosy, it has broken out in the ulcer.
ULT And the priest shall see, and look, the appearance is deeper than the skin, and its hair has turned white. Then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is an infection of skin disease; it has broken out in the boil.
UST The priest should examine the person's skin. The priest should look to see if the discolored or swollen spot of skin seems to be under the skin or if the hair on that spot has become white. If the priest sees these things, then the priest should judge the person to be impure. The person is impure because the swollen or discolored spot of skin is actually a symptom of an infectious skin disease that has broken out where the boil used to be.
BSB The priest shall examine it, and if it appears to be beneath the skin and the hair in it has turned white, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased infection that has broken out in the boil.

13:1-46 a serious skin disease (Hebrew tsara‘at): The Hebrew word is much broader than the severely disfiguring Hansen’s disease (see study note on 13:2). This larger range included symptoms such as an open sore (13:10), a boil (13:18), a burn (13:24), a sore on the head or chin (13:29), shiny white patches (13:38), or abnormal baldness (13:40). A general test was whether or not the abnormality was spreading (13:5-8). If so, a quarantine was ordered for as long as the disorder persisted (13:46). Not just people, but clothing (13:47-59) and even buildings (14:33-53) could contract such infections.

This expression refers to the instruction that after the priest observes the symptoms, the priest should pronounce the person unclean. Don't imply that the disease is the result of the priest's pronouncement. Rather, the disease is the reason, and the pronouncement is the result. Use a connector in your language that makes it clear that what follows is a result of what came before. Alternate translation: “The symptoms indicate that it is an infection of skin disease that has broken out in the boil”
