OET (OET-RV) When the Philistines heard that David had been proclaimed as king over all Yisrael, their army set off to capture him, but David heard and retreated[fn] to the stronghold.
5:17 The Hebrew says ‘descended’, but doesn’t tell us either from where (probably Yerushalem) or to where (possibly Masada).
OET-LV and_ the_Fəlishtiy _heard if/because_that people_had_anointed DOM Dāvid as_king over Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) and_ all_of _went_up the_Fəlishtiy to_search_for DOM Dāvid and_ Dāvid _he/it_listened and_he/it_descended to the_stronghold.
