This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.
Gen 19:36-37:
36 In that way, both of Lot’s daughters got themselves pregnant through their father. 37 Then the eldest daughter gave birth to a son and she named him Moab (which means ‘from my father’). (He’s the ancestor of the Moabites to this day.)
25:10-12:
10 the field that Abraham had bought from Het’s sons. So Abraham’s body was laid there alongside that of his wife Sarah.[ref] 11 After his death, God blessed his son Yitshak who lived near Be’er-Lahai-Roi.
25:11 Ishma’el’s Descendants
12 Now these are the generations of Ishma’el the son of Abraham, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s female slave, had given birth to for Abraham.
Jer 48:1-47:
Amos 2:1-3:
Moab
“Even if Moab was three or four sins below the threshold,
I wouldn’t turn away its punishment,
because he completely burnt up the bones of Edom’s king.[ref]
and it will devour Keriot’s fortresses.
Moab will die in an uproar—
with shouting and the sound of the horn. 3 I’ll wipe out her judge,
≈and I’ll kill all the leaders along with him,”
Zeph 2:8-11:
≈and the Ammonites’ insults.
They’ve insulted my people
and built up their forces against their border.[ref]
9 Army commander Yahweh, Israel’s God, declares:
As certain as I’m alive,
≈and the Ammonites like Gomorrah,
overrun by nettles and salt-pits—in ruins forever.
The remnant of my people will plunder them,
≈and the remainder of my nation will take possession of them.[ref]
10 That will be the fruit of their pride,
because they mocked and talked themselves up
against the people of army commander Yahweh.
11 The people of Moab and Ammon will be very scared when Yahweh punishes them.
He’ll do that so powerfully that people will stop worshipping all other gods.
People in every nation will worship Yahweh instead—each person in their own country.
