Here Moses is speaking of this man’s family as if it were physically a house, and he refers to the man’s disgrace by referring to the sandal that his brother’s widow removed from his foot. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [The family of the disgraced man] or [The family of the man who refused his duty]
