Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / reduplication
שָׁכֹ֤חַ תִּשְׁכַּח֙ & אָבֹ֖ד תֹּאבֵדֽוּן
to_forget forget & to_perish perish,
Moses is repeating forms of the verbs forget and perish in order to intensify the idea that they express. If your language can repeat words for intensification, it would be appropriate to do that here in your translation. If not, your language may have another way of expressing the emphasis. Alternate translation: [you indeed forget … you will indeed perish]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
וְהָֽלַכְתָּ֗ אַחֲרֵי֙
and,go after
Here, walk after means “worship.” Moses is speaking of worshiping idols as if they were walking behind them. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [and serve]
Note 3 topic: writing-oathformulas
הַעִדֹ֤תִי בָכֶם֙
testify in/on/at/with,you(pl)
The phrase I testify against you is an oath formula used as a strong warning. Use a natural way in your language to express a strong warning. Alternate translation: [I promise you]
8:1-20 Once Israel inhabited the land, they might have the human tendency to take credit for the blessings that followed. Moses warned the people to guard against a self-congratulatory attitude. God alone is the source of all prosperity and achievement.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
