Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
וַיַּֽאֲכִֽלְךָ֤ אֶת הַמָּן֙
and,feeding,you DOM the,manna
This does not mean that Yahweh personally fed the Israelites like a mother would feed her infant. What Moses means is that Yahweh provided manna from heaven for the Israelites to eat, as [Exodus 16](Exo/16/01.md) describes. You could include this information if it would be helpful for your readers. Alternate translation: [and gave you manna to eat]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicitinfo
לֹא־יָדַ֔עְתָּ וְלֹ֥א יָדְע֖וּן אֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ
not know and=not know, fathers_of,your
The expression you had not known and your fathers had not known contains extra information that would be unnatural to express in some languages. If this is true of your language, you could shorten the expression. Alternate translation: [you and your fathers had not known]
Note 3 topic: grammar-collectivenouns
הָֽאָדָ֔ם & הָאָדָֽם
the=humankind & the=humankind
In this verse, the word man is singular in form, but it refers to all human beings as a group. If it would be helpful in your language, you could say this plainly. Alternate translation: [humankind … humankind]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
הַלֶּ֤חֶם
the,bread
Here, bread represents all food. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression from your language or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [eating meals]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
כָּל־מוֹצָ֥א פִֽי־יְהוָ֖ה
all/each/any/every word_that_comes_from_of mouth_of YHWH
Here, mouth represents the act of speaking, and everything coming out represents the words or commands. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression from your language or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [what Yahweh declares]
8:3 The word manna is derived from the Hebrew words man hu (meaning “what is it?”). God miraculously provided this food to teach his people total dependence on him (Exod 16:1-30; Num 11:4-9). Manna represented the word of God, which is even more essential to life and well-being than food is.
• people do not live by bread alone: Jesus quoted this phrase to rebut Satan (Matt 4:4; Luke 4:4).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
