uW Translation Notes:

General Information:

Yahweh is the speaker in verses 21–40.

Connecting Statement:

Connecting Statement:

Jeremiah continues to deliver Yahweh’s message about the false prophets and priests that he began in [Jeremiah 23:9](../23/09.md).

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

(Occurrence 0) they have still prophesied

(Some words not found in UHB: not send DOM the, prophets and, they ran not speak to,them and, they prophesied )

It is understood that they are prophesying falsely. This can be made explicit. Alternate translation: “they have prophesied falsely anyway”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

23:9-32 These short poems and interjections appear to be excerpts from a session in which the Lord prepared Jeremiah to prosecute the false prophets of Jerusalem. Because these leaders had misused the Lord’s name, they incurred his wrath (Exod 20:7).
