OET (OET-LV)there still_you will_be_speaking there with the_king and_I I_will_come after_you and_confirm DOM messages_of_your.

OET (OET-RV)Then while you’re still there talking to the king, I’ll come in behind you and confirm what you said.”

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

הִנֵּ֗ה

see/lo/see!

Nathan is using the term Behold to draw attention to what he plans to do while Bathsheba is talking with David. Your language may have a comparable way of calling attention to this event that you can use in your translation. Alternate translation: “After that” or “Right away”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / rpronouns

וַאֲנִי֙ אָב֣וֹא

and,I come_in

Nathan uses the word myself to emphasize how significant it will be that he will come in. Use a way that is natural in your language to indicate this significance. Alternate translation: “then I, yes I, will come in”

אַחֲרַ֔יִךְ

after,you

Alternate translation: “after you do”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

וּמִלֵּאתִ֖י אֶת־דְּבָרָֽיִךְ

and,confirm DOM words_of,your

Here Nathan speaks as if Bathsheba’s words were containers that were partly full and that he would fill them up completely. He means that he will confirm that what Bathsheba has said is true. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a comparable figure of speech or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “and will testify to the truth of your words” or “and confirm what you have said”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

1:11-14 Bathsheba was Solomon’s mother and David’s favored wife. Their affair led to the death of Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah the Hittite (see 2 Sam 11:1-27).
• Nathan, the prophet who revealed God’s covenant with David (2 Sam 7:1-17) and announced God’s love for Solomon at his birth (2 Sam 12:24-25), confirmed God’s selection of Solomon to succeed David as king (see 1 Chr 28:4-7). Although Nathan had sharply rebuked David for his affair with Bathsheba and his murder of Uriah (2 Sam 12:1-15), the king respected the prophet.
• Adonijah certainly observed Nathan’s close association with Bathsheba and Solomon. All three could expect to be killed if Adonijah’s plot to seize the throne succeeded (see 1 Kgs 15:29; 16:11).
