וַתֵּהֹ֖ם הַקִּרְיָ֑ה
(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_have_anointed DOM=him/it Tsādōq/(Zadok) the=priest/officer and,Nathan the,prophet to,king at,Gihon and,they_have_gone_up from=there rejoicing and,it_was_stirred the,town he/it [is]_the,sound which/who heard )
Here, the city represents the people of the city. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [and the people of the city are agitated]

The expression is agitated is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [and this has agitated the people of the city] or [and this has excited the people of the city]

The word you is plural here because Jonathan means that Adonijah and all of his guests have heard this sound. So use the plural form in your translation if your language marks that distinction.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
