OET (OET-RV) Elisha’s servant said to himself, “Hmmh, my master wouldn’t take anything from that Na’aman the Aramean. By the life of Yahweh, I think I should run after him and take something that he brought.”

Following the custom of his culture, Gehazi is swearing an oath by something that he holds sacred and by stating the first part of a condition (“if”) but not the second part (“then”). In a context such as this, it may be natural to express just the first part of the condition as a positive statement. Alternate translation: [I swear by Yahweh that I am going to run after him and take something from him]

See the discussion in the introduction to 2 Kings of how the author or a character may use the word “hand,” part of a person, to represent the whole person in the act of doing something. In this instance, Gehazi is using the hand of Naaman to represent him in the act of having gifts that he wanted to offer to Elisha. Alternate translation: [from him]

OET (OET-RV) Elisha’s servant said to himself, “Hmmh, my master wouldn’t take anything from that Na’aman the Aramean. By the life of Yahweh, I think I should run after him and take something that he brought.”
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
