OET (OET-LV) And_if not she_has_made_herself_unclean the_woman and_is_pure she and_she_will_be_free and_she_will_be_impregnated seed.
OET (OET-RV) However, if she hadn’t defiled herself and is pure, then she’ll be free and be able to have children.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / parallelism
לֹ֤א נִטְמְאָה֙ הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה וּטְהֹרָ֖ה הִ֑וא
not defiled the=woman and_[is],pure who/which
The phrases the woman was not made unclean and she is clean mean the same thing. For emphasis, Yahweh is saying it first negatively and then positively. If a speaker of your language would not use repetition like this, in your translation you can convey the emphasis in a different way. Alternate translation: [the woman is completely clean]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
לֹ֤א נִטְמְאָה֙ הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה
not defiled the=woman
The expression was not made unclean is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [the woman did not make herself unclean]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
וְנִקְּתָ֖ה
and,she_will_be_free
Here, the woman could be free: (1) from the negative affects of the water and the curse. This is what free explicitly refers to in [5:19](../05/19.md). Alternate translation: [then she will be free of the water and the curse] (2) from any declaration of guilt. Alternate translation: [then she will be free of guilt]
Note 4 topic: writing-poetry
וְנִזְרְעָ֥ה זָֽרַע
and,she_will_be_impregnated seed
Yahweh is using a construction in which a verb and its object come from the same root. You may be able to use the same construction in your language to express the meaning here. Alternatively, your language may have another way of saying this. Alternate translation: [and she will be sown successfully]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
וְנִזְרְעָ֥ה זָֽרַע
and,she_will_be_impregnated seed
Here, Yahweh is speaking as if a woman’s ability to have children were the same as if someone were planting seed in a field. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [and she will be able to have children]
Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
וְנִזְרְעָ֥ה זָֽרַע
and,she_will_be_impregnated seed
The expression will be sown is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. If you need to say who does the action, the context indicates that it is her husband. Alternate translation: [and her husband will sow her with seed]
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
